Gary Lewis Hanson
December 1, 1945 - September 22, 2008
Gary Hanson was born in St. Paul on December 1, 1945, son of Raymond and Wanda (Savick) Hanson. He was raised in Frost and graduated from Frost High School in 1963.
Gary entered the U. S. Marines in July, 1963, served in Viet Nam, and was honorably discharged in 1967. He moved to the eastern United States after being discharged from the Marines and married Carol Quick in 1995. They lived in Thomaston, CT for the past 13 years where Gary was a master carpenter. He moved back to Minnesota in June, 2008, to pursue medical care at the Mayo Clinic.
Gary was preceded in death by his father, Raymond G. Hanson and by two children, a son, Todd, and a daughter, Amber Lynn, who died in infancy.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Hanson, their 12-year-old daughter,Samantha-Sue Coleen Hanson, of Thomaston, and step-sons,Frank, Steven and Scott. He is also survived by his mother, Wanda Kallestad of Blue Earth, six sisters and two brothers.
As he had wished, Gary's body was donated for scientific study to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester.
