Palmer Midthun, 80, of Frost, died Wednesday, January 25, 2006, at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester. Memorial services were January 30, 2006, at United Lutheran Church in Frost. Burial was at Bricelyn Lutheran Church with military honors.
Palmer was born October 20, 1925, in Minneapolis to Edward and Pauline (Leknes) Midthun and was raised in Frost by his aunt and uncle, Mary and Arthur Anderson. He graduated from Frost High School. He married Vivian Hanson December 28, 1946 at Bethany Lutheran Church of rural Frost. He served in the US Army for two years and was a veteran of World War II.
Palmer was a farmer who loved his animals; he also enjoyed gardening, yard wrok, his computer and attending Host Fest. He was a member of United Lutheran Church in Frost; the Blue Earth VFW Post and the Bricelyn American Legion where he was a past Commander.
He is survived by his wife Vivian Midthun of Frost; one son, Paul and his wife Lois Midthun of Holt, MI; one daughter, Pam and her husband Dennis Harris of Fairmont; five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; one brother Norman (wife Jean) Midthun of Excelsior; one half-brother Edward Midthun; one sister-in-lw Marge (husband Tom) Amberg of Fountain Hills, AZ; one brother-in-law Erv (wife Donna) Hanson of Blue Earth, many nieces, nephews and friends.
